calling both the DC office and the local ones is productive.

Just because you agree with your legislators much of the time, it's still useful to engage and offer support or encouragement.
calling frequently is useful.
Calling legislators of other states isn't useful. If you want to reach a GOP senator or congressperson, call your friends who have one and ask them to make similar calls.
